Our Methods

At Insync, we believe that learning needs to be interactive and fun.  We appreciate that everyone has a preferred learning style (Visual, Auditory or Kinasethic); therefore we facilitate our workshops and activities using a variety of methods that appeal to all 3 learning styles.
Depending on the duration of the activity/workshop, we will use a combination of the following facilitation methods:

Experiential Learning

Is about learning through experience.  Activities are structured so that participants are involved in a practical and hands-on situation that they can learn from and directly relate to their own work environment.  They are challenging, stimulating and fun with opportunities for personal feedback.

Group Discussion/Presentation

The team can be split into sub teams to discuss a topic or problem.  Each team then presents their ideas and thoughts to the whole group for further discussion.  This is a highly effective and interactive way to encourage participation from all team members and an opportunity to learn form each other.

Feedforward

Feedforward is a feedback tool where individuals ask for personal feedback from other team members on what they can do to improve.   It is conducted one-on-one and focuses on feedback about what the person can do in the future, not what they have done in the past.  Participants find this method extremely valuable especially when the feedforward is coming from their peers.

Team Talk

Team Talk is a debriefing or review session that involves structured discussion after the completion of an experiential activity.  It encourages all team members to reflect on what happened during the activity; the feelings they experienced and what they can learn from this about them and their team.  This personal reflection then gives them an opportunity to consider how they can apply this learning to their own work environment, personal life or next activity and what further action or follow-up is required.

Evaluation

The real goal of any programme is to achieve measurable performance improvements.  Insync will evaluate and follow up every programme and work in partnership with our clients to further integrate and enhance learning outcomes.  Evaluation can be performed at different levels however one of the most effective and simplistic methods we use is conducted at the conclusion of every training programme – called “Action Commitments”.

Action commitments is a brief session where individual team members make a commitment in writing as to what they will do differently back at work because of what they have learned during the programme.  This then gives you the opportunity to be able to follow up with each person once they have had time to practice their new skills and/or behaviours.
